Brokerversity’s first cohort of students have just completed ‘O-Week’, setting them on their way to making their own careers in mortgage and finance broking.

More than 300 students have commenced studies on the online platform following tours of Brokerversity’s ‘virtual campus’, meeting Loan Market’s Hall of Famers and learning more about how the program will prepare them to hit the ground running in brokerages.

Within a year, LMG plans for 100 mortgage specialists to complete its undergraduate and graduate courses, linking with business owners in the network following completion.

Brokerversity is now live after a successful pilot, in which participants gave the course an average 4.8/5 satisfaction rating.

While it prepares mortgage specialists for a career in the industry, it also helps broker business owners overcome the widespread challenge of preparing and training support staff and new brokers. It trains students to manage the end-to-end loan process with leading knowledge and best-practice compliance.

Graduates will begin in support roles at Loan Market’s branded and BYOB brokerages, but with the Graduate Program including the Certificate IV in Mortgage Broking and Finance, a career in broking is also made possible. Existing support staff specialists in Loan Market are also undertaking the courses to further their careers.

Loan Market Managing Director Andrea McNaughton said: “We’ve tested and refined the curriculum during the pilot and now have a course enabling graduates to hit the ground running as soon as they step into a brokerage”.

“Brokerversity starts with the 101 of mortgage broking - terms and definitions that are everyday language in a brokerage. The Graduate Course trains students in every critical area, from client onboarding and through to settlement care, with an equal focus on compliance and productivity.”

During O-Week, Loan Market hosted webinars focusing on the Graduate Program’s seven courses and how they integrate with Loan Market’s proprietary operational guide, the Kaizen-designed Blueprint.

Participants in Brokerversity’s pilot also shared their experiences with students while Hall of Famers and mentors will unveil an extensive content library that supports learning.

Mrs McNaughton said Brokerversity prepared new specialists for the industry at a time when brokerages were struggling to find well-trained mortgage and finance professionals.

The aggregator made the strategic decision to bolster brokerages with support staff two years ago. More than 800 Client Support Managers now work within its brokerages in the last year while offshore loan processing unit, BrokerForce, has grown to 150 specialists.

“Our brokers’ industry-leading productivity is in large part due to helping our business’ scale with well-trained staff. Brokerversity takes our strategy to the next level.

“It’s a total win for quality broker recruitment.”

“Brokerversity solves the problem for so many broker business owners who are struggling to find well-trained staff, saving them weeks - even months - in onboarding time.”

Brokerversity will be open to both new to industry students and existing staff who want to upskill.

Embedded within the platform is a Jobs Board, connecting graduates with business owners.

Managing Director of Green Finance Group, Daniel Green, said: “Brokerversity solves one of the biggest challenges growing broking businesses face today, getting new staff up and running quickly”.
