New broker ‘goes all-in’ on marketing and lodges 100 deals in first year

Former Loan Market Growth Manager Samantha Barnett lodged 100 deals in her first 12 months as a business owner despite opening her doors with ‘zero clients’.

Having introduced brokers to Loan Market’s offering in her former corporate life, the now Director of a Loan Market franchise in Queensland had a deep understanding of how the brand’s lead generation tools helped brokers find clients.

“I wanted to turn everything on from the start,” she said. “Digital marketing is an ecosystem that works best when all customer touchpoints are working together.”

In her first year, 45% of leads came from turning on Loan Market’s entire ‘done-for-you’ marketing portfolio, which recently saw the brokerage win the Australian Broking Awards’ Marketing Platform of the Year.

By going all-in on Loan Market’s marketing suite, Ms Barnett has lodged more than $6m in deals, on average, per month and saved herself more than 20 hours each month in curating adverts, content and emails.

Last financial year alone, Loan Market recorded a 38% increase in the number of brokers across Australia. Loan Market’s Chief Marketing Officer Angela Tracey said the brand’s promise to help brokers find and keep clients resonated with new business owners.

“Sam knew our lead generation and brand awareness tools inside and out before starting Loan Market and she’s embraced everything we offer,” she said.

“Her integration of our lead generation and brand awareness has engaged clients who she then provides an exceptional customer journey. These customers then in turn become her champions, driving social proof through online reviews on her Google business page.”

Ms Barnett said Loan Market’s Google My Business strategy has been a critical component of her brand awareness.

“If you’re not appearing on the first page of Google searches, you’re simply not being found,” she said.

“Customers have been Googling brokers and, when I come up, they recognise me from appearing in their social media feeds and that added profile helps drive the enquiry.”
Ms Barnett’s digital marketing suite includes:

Her own business website;
Amplify - set-and-forget Facebook advertising solution;
Broker Reels - short-form videos for social media;
My Lead Generator - a lead generation tool directing clients to a CX-friendly qualification process;
‘Reviewr’ - an automated tool driving feedback on her Google My Business page;
Social Post - a content publishing solution to drive her social media presence;
Automated database communications - converting warm leads and engaging existing clients;
Chatmeter - SEO tool to improve local search.

“Social Post was one feature that surprised me,” said Ms Barnett.

“If I had to work with a social media manager and come-up with a strategy for regular content, other parts of my business would suffer. I’m doing my business justice if I’m in front of my customers, helping them find a solution, packaging a deal and supporting them through their post-settlement journey.”
