Earlier this week we named our Top 100 Female Brokers based on the number of clients helped over 2023.

The following are our Top 3 Leading Ladies.

1. Sarah Thomson

Sarah’s been in the industry for 23 years with more than two-thirds of that time spent as a business owner. (When she opened her Loan Market business in Geelong, she was only one of a handful of female business owners across the branded network).

Even though Sarah helped a massive 387 clients in new deals over 2023, her service to existing customers was just as significant.

Sarah has assembled a team of 10 which drives the end-to-end customer journey - she’s segmented the various stages of an application with specialists assigned to each - while she and her other brokers are strategising with new clients. They’re also responsible for repricing clients, dedicating time to delivering better rates for clients each week.

Sarah is one of the best exponents of Google My Business in the industry with the business now approaching 700 reviews which serve as compelling social proof for prospective clients.

2. Sue Vuong

Sue Vuong opened her Loan Market office in 2011. She works closely with referral partner Ray White Whiteman & Associates in Mirrabooka as well as Ray White South Perth.

As a broker, she provides true value to the sales agents and property managers in the partnership.

“I aim to give the agents more control in the transaction: pre-qualifying clients and giving them timely updates and guidance on lender turnaround times so they can manage the timing on contracts and provide good advice to their sellers,” said Sue.

“About 50% of my clients are First Home Buyers with the rest being a split of upgrader families and investors. I help tagents understand Government schemes that are in place to help First Home Buyers and how interest rate changes will affect borrowing capacity in the marketplace.

“Right now in WA, there’s a lot of people looking to upgrade and they want to know they can buy before they sell.”

Also joining Sue in the Leading Ladies Top 100 is her sister, Kimberly, who works alongside her in the Loan Market franchise.

3. Mel Wright

Mel Wright owned her Zest Mortgage Solutions business only four years ago.

Her initial focus was building a brand, investing in SEO, social media marketing and Google My Business strategies that built her online profile.

She also committed time and energy to instilling process in her operations, ensuring everyone in her business understands their roles and contributions to a stellar customer service offering. She’s embraced Kaizen principles supported by LMG that allow her to eliminate wastage and give more time back to her customers.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for our clients to communicate with us, receive updates and ultimately an outcome they can’t get elsewhere,” said Mel.

Clients celebrate the engagements through glowing online reviews which have not only enticed more customers to take up her services, but have encouraged professional referrers to send their clients her way.

Mel is active in the community and is aiming to raise $100,000 through the Dancing CEO’s initiative which supports the Women’s Legal Service of Queensland.
